The New Old Timers will be hosting a benefit concert on June 25 in Coatesville, IN. This concert will benefit a very dear family to the band, Randy and Sheila Williams. Randy and Sheila are Andrew’s (lead singer for the band) grandparents. They were informed that Sheila would be losing her job as well as their health insurance! They will be getting new health insurance, however it does not begin to cover their medication fee...s for a few months. Randy and Sheila have been very strong supporters of the band, so naturally when we heard of their situation, we decided to help them by putting on a benefit!
The concert will be held at the beautiful Cedar Grove Music Park/Camp Ground. There will be food and refreshments for dinner and a bunch of great bluegrass music by The New Old Timers. All of the proceeds from the food will go to the family. There will be no charge to get into the concert, however we will be passing around a “hat” for a free will offering multiple times throughout the evening.
There will be no pressure to donate money at this concert. We realize that the economy is bad in general and a bunch of folks are kind of cramped in the financial department, however Randy and Sheila have many high dollar medications that they need in order to live even a decent level of wellness. Randy and Sheila have both had their fair share of severe medical conditions, which has led to them having to take medication. Since they currently do not have any medical insurance to help with the next payment for their medications, they will have to pay thousands and thousands of dollars out of pocket which they cannot afford…
We hope to see everyone out on the 25th! The gates will open at 4:30pm. The concessions will be open at 4:30 so grab a hotdog, hamburger, etc… and grab a front row seat in the shade! The music will start around 5:45 and continue until 7:00. The band will take a short intermission and continue from 7:30-8:45. At the conclusion of the show we will have a bon fire and a jam so bring your instruments!!!
Also, there is an indoor venue if the weather takes a turn for the worse, so that IS NOT an excuse!!! If the weather is nice, bring your fishing gear, there is a pond!
